Quote of the Week

“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come.”

Quote of the Week

Some people are afraid of what they might find if they try to analyze themselves too much, but you have to crawl into your wounds to discover where your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin.

Education does not make us educable.  It is our awareness of being unfinished that makes us educable.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Quote of the Week

Today is not yesterday: we ourselves change; how can our works and thoughts, if they are always to be the fittest, continue always the same? Change, indeed is painful; yet ever needful; and if memory have its force and worth, so also has hope.

"If Everyone Cared," Nickelback

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"
(I'm alive)
Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

And I'm singing
Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I
(I'm alive)

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"
(I'm alive)
Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
(When nobody died)
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
(When nobody died)
We'd see the day
(When nobody died)

Rumi, Solitude

This aloneness is worth more than a thousand lives.
This freedom is worth more than all the lands on earth.

To be one with the truth for just a moment,
Is worth more than the world and life itself.

Anidawehi's Lullaby

On a cold Autumn night, Anidawehi fell from grace,
stumbling through the holes on the floor of Heaven,
seeking redemption, longing for solace.
In this forsaken alley, lightness and darkness are now interwoven.

Anidawehi closed her eyes to shut off the vivid images
of moments she desperately wished she could erase,
hearing the screams she should have screamed. Feeling the cages
and the chains she could no longer bear to face.

Oh, and in the midst of Heaven and Earth,
forever and time will soon cease to exist,
suspended in a never-ending moment of truth.
Anidawehi's soul will somehow find its worth,
With the faith of knowing someday she'll be cleansed.

And now thorns have littered ten thousand miles,
and yet Anidawehi walked this trail of tears, keeping the faith
that someday she'll glide upon petal-strewn aisles,
knowing that her faith is  much stronger than the unsaved's wrath.

And here in the midst of Heaven and Earth,
forever and time have long since ceased to exist,
suspended in a never-ending moment of blinding truth.
Anidawehi's soul has somehow found its worth,

because she had been clean all along.

Angels Used to Cry

Hold your head up and wipe your tears dry
Your pain has unlocked the gates of my once-closed heart
For so long all I've ever wanted was to remain unemotional
But when I held you in my arms,
I forgot about the fears that made me shut out the world

Once upon a lifetime
Angels wandered the world aimlessly
Tears streaked their rosy cheeks
As they drifted off to sleep

Prayers left unspoken and unanswered
Were what my heart hath beckoned
Thought I'd be alone forever,
Then you came into my life
You looked into my eyes and saw my dreams
Not the emptiness I once cast upon the stars and skies

And in this lifetime

I wandered this world purposefully
Peace filled my heart
As we walked hand in hand

We must never permit the voice of humanity
within us to be silenced. It is Man's sympathy with all creatures that first makes him a Man.

--Albert Schweitzer

Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.

--Viktor E. Frankl
